Elva studied art at The Students Art League of NYC as well as the McDowell School of Design, and with local art legends Marie Lui and Rusty Coelho. 

Elva originally wanted to be a fabric designer, but fell in love and married.  Having taught for many years, she is now retired, and has become an accomplished oil painter. 

"I don’t paint because I want to", she says.  "I paint because I have to!"
